Muqeem Visa Validity Portal (vv.muqeem.sa): How to Check Exit Re-Entry and Visit Visas
The Visa Validity Portal at vv.muqeem.sa is the official place to check whether an exit/re-entry visa or a visit visa is still valid. This guide explains who the portal is for, what you need to enter for each visa type, whether you need an account, and what to do when something does not work. It is an independent guide, not a government service, and it is based on the official portal and its published user manual.
Official links: use the government portals directly
This website is an independent guide and is not affiliated with the Ministry of Interior or the Muqeem platform. Visa results are shown only on the official portal, after you log in.
What you need to enter, by visa type
The portal uses a different identifier depending on the visa type. Having the right number ready before you start avoids most “not found” errors.
| Visa type | What you enter | Where to learn more |
|---|---|---|
| Exit/re-entry visa | Iqama number of the visa holder | Exit re-entry visa guide |
| Visit visa | Border number | Border number guide |
| Family visit visa request status | Request details (a separate service, not the Visa Validity Portal) | Family visit visa status guide |
Do you need an account?
Yes, for the official portal. The Visa Validity Portal shows a login page, and its user manual describes registering and activating your account through a link before you can sign in. Registration for the main Muqeem platform is covered in our Muqeem registration guide.
You may see websites claiming you can check “without login”. We could not verify a public no-login route on the official portal, so we do not recommend sharing your Iqama or border number with third-party sites. Our no-login guide explains what we could and could not confirm.
How to check your visa validity (step by step)
- Open the Visa Validity Portal using the official link above.
- Log in with your registered account, or register and activate it first if you do not have one yet.
- Choose the visa type you want to check: exit/re-entry or visit visa.
- Enter the identifier the portal asks for (Iqama number or border number).
- Submit and read the result on screen. The official user manual shows what each screen looks like.
Reading the result
Compare the validity or expiry information shown on the result screen with your travel or departure date. The wording on the screen can change, so use the official user manual if a status is unclear. If the result does not match what you expect, do not rely on third-party sites; contact your sponsor or the official support channels listed on our Muqeem guide and on muqeem.sa.
Exit re-entry visa versus visit visa
- Exit/re-entry visa: issued to residents who hold an Iqama and plan to leave and return. Checked with the Iqama number. See the exit re-entry visa guide and the validity check guide.
- Visit visa: issued to visitors and relatives entering the Kingdom. Checked with the border number. See the border number guide.
- Final exit visa: a separate procedure for leaving permanently. See the final exit visa guide.
Other ways to check
Residents often use the Absher platform for personal and family services, and some third-party guides say visa details can also be viewed there. We could not verify this from the official site, so treat it as unconfirmed and check what your own Absher account shows. For printing your residence card, see how Iqama print works.
Troubleshooting
- Cannot log in: use the forgot-password or forgot-username options on the official login page, and make sure you activated the account through the link sent during registration.
- No activation link: check your spam folder, confirm the email you registered with, and contact Muqeem support through the official site.
- Number not accepted: check you are using the right identifier for the visa type (Iqama number or border number) and that there are no extra spaces or digits.
- Visa not showing: the visa may not be issued under your account or number, so ask your sponsor, employer or the establishment that requested it.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to log in to check my Muqeem visa validity?
According to the official Visa Validity Portal and its user manual, you sign in with a registered account (and activate it through the link sent during registration). Some third-party articles describe a login-free route, but we could not confirm one on the official site. See our no-login walkthrough for what is and is not known.
What do I enter to check an exit re-entry visa?
The portal asks for the Iqama number of the visa holder. Read the on-screen fields carefully, because the portal may change them. The official user manual describes the current screens.
How do I check a visit visa?
For visit visas the portal uses the border number, not the Iqama number. If you only have a passport number, see our border number guide for how the number is used and where to find it.
Where do I find my border number?
If you do not have it, ask the person or establishment that requested the visa for you, or check the visa documents you received. We do not generate or look up border numbers on this site.
Can I check someone else’s visa?
The portal is built around registered accounts. We have not verified any official route for checking another person’s visa without their account, so ask the sponsor, employer or establishment that holds the visa to check it, and never share your password with anyone.
What if my visa has expired?
Contact your sponsor or employer, and use the official Muqeem or Absher channels to ask about your options. Fines or restrictions can apply, so confirm the current rules on an official site. Our final exit visa guide covers the related checks.
